Perfunctory

Pure perfunctory whispers
Shattered my ear sphincters
And my mind wonders out of control
The constant eye rolls toil, my sad soul, While my shadow hides within the crowds of nothingness.

Pure perfunctory glides disillusion mobs
To say “hi” with nods
But no one really cares, they just dare
To feel they were there while irritated you responded in the crosshairs

Perfunctory invitation, most hated by the nation
The taunt of simple words of conversation
Summons an ultimatum of responding to the empty words of a stranger, who I know does not care?
In most situations, I keep walking and then I hear the person calling me something inappropriate evaporate
Such is life with this perfunctory interaction.
