Spent my birthday weekend in a meaningful way with the Democratic Party of Jefferson County at the Annual Fisher-Shackelford Dinner, where we welcomed Vice President Kamala Harris to Arkansas and celebrated the accomplishments of Democratic women across our state. It was an honor to recognize Debrah Mitchell, Tippi McCullough, and Addie Jones for their devoted work.

I had hoped to capture a photo with the Vice President during my birthday weekend, especially as someone who proudly served as an attendee during Unite for America with Oprah Winfrey during Vice President Harris’s historic 2024 presidential campaign. But simply being present for such an inspiring evening was a gift in itself. Grateful for the moment, the fellowship, and the continued work ahead.

I am truly humbled to have been invited back to my alma mater, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, to serve as a panelist for the Emerging Scholars Leadership Institute’s Young Alumni Panel.

What stood out most was seeing how differently life has unfolded for each of us, while also being able to learn and gain insight from my fellow panelists. It was a reminder that even as we give back, there’s always something to take away from one another—and that shared experience continues to influence the way we move and grow.

Thank you, UAPB , for the opportunity to pour into the next generation of Golden Lions. It’s always a blessing to return, share my story, and encourage those who are preparing to make their mark on the world.
