This shoot produced a few of my favorite images I’ve take in all of 2020, just in time.

I “examine” every client in the 30 minutes prior to shooting as they get themselves acclimated to the space and prepare to be in front of the camera. I talk and carry on conversation, but the entire time I just observe in a way that almost seems to make everything slow motion. It typically results in a good understanding of how I’d like to move forward and the kind of energy we will create during the session.

My notes: She is strong, thoughtful, and at times, stoic. She does not fidget. She is deliberate, but gentle when she sets things down or picks them up. I wanted to make her look taller than reality in her full body shots in addition to bringing her calming stillness into her entire set.
