Haven’t posted my Jag in a while and honestly this is one of the coolest pieces I’ve ever created. It’s not too big - just 80 square feet - but it packs a punch!

I created this for True North Studios at the Pemberton in Downtown Phoenix and I’m not sure I’ve ever had so much fun painting a mural before! There were dozens of artists mixed in with all types of contracting crews working to get the Pemberton open. This post captures the process of working on a property mid construction, which is something I’ve done a lot but never this close.

Overall, the Pemberton is full of magic. Painting there was almost like an artist summer camp and became an essential place where a lot of Phoenix artist met for the first time. Now we’re all friends and the collaborations and community that has grown out of this project still has me in awe.

Before the Pemberton I only dreamed of having so many artist friends. Now I feel like I’m part of the crew. If every city had an experience like the Pemberton paint project that could tie more artists together, the world would be a more colorful place. I’m grateful for the experience and I’m grateful for all of my new friends.

It truly is a place where we can all belong. It was built with love and passion and a whole lot of creative energy. Go for a visit, leave inspired.
