Growing up I was the eldest girl of three raised by a single mother. As I got older I watched my mother struggle living pay check to pay check trying to provide for us and give us everything we needed. One day she asked me what did I want to be when I grew up, and I replied, a chef and that I wanted to open my own restaurant and work for myself. I went all through elementary school, middle school,
and high school still having that dream. When I turned 13, I went out and got my very first job as a photographer. For the next five years, I worked minimum wage jobs. I graduated from high school and attended a private college in Michigan to pursue my business dreams. I attended college for one year before deciding to stay home, work, and save up to go back to school. I was now an adult living pay check to pay check just as I had seen my mother do all those years. Only now I was taking care of myself and had fallen into the rat race as so many had before me. I was tired of working for other people making these companies rich while I was just getting by not living out the dreams I had of opening my own restaurant. On November 11, 2011, my life changed forever. I was walking across the street and got hit by a pick-up truck. I had suffered a brain injury, four fractures to my spine, a broken pelvis, a torn acl, and a fractured ankle. I was unconscious for a week, in the hospital for a month, rehabilitation for 3 months and still wheelchair bound unable to walk on my right leg for four months after that. I had gained weight and still was not able to take care of myself fully dealing with pain every day. My pelvis and ankle healed, and I was finally able to walk again. I started going back to therapy learning to take care of myself again, learning to walk again, and thinking of where I was going to take my life next. Even though I could walk there were still things wrong with my body. I still had these sharp headaches, back pain, and a knee injury. I could no longer do the things to support myself I once did. The dreams I had of opening a restaurant were no longer possible due to the hours spent standing. Standing for hours, looking at screens, focusing on anything too long, walking long periods, even reading for too long triggered my pain. Trying to find different jobs that would accommodate was a struggle. Every job I could get not having finished school required me to stand long hours or stare at a screen for hours both of which I could not do. I now had a child to support so I started driving for Lyft, but I wanted more. I wanted to spend more time with my now 2-year-old, I wanted to be more secure financially, and I wanted to travel more so I decided to start working from home, to create my own business and work when and where I wanted. It took a little while to find the right business system for me, but I eventually did. Just by doing that so many more doors opened to me. I was able to start my soap business and help people with affordable. If you need help repairing your credit or would like all natural soap reach out to me direct so we can setup a time to chat!
