Many of us embark on our health and wellness journey expecting to find a large diagnosis, complex treatment plan, and endless list of medication and supplements to "fix" us.
In almost every case, some of the most simple and inexpensive interventions can yield the most results for our health.
One of the most simple and inexpensive of all is HYDRATION! Water is the lifeblood for every living being on this planet to some extent, and humans are no exception. Water not only allows us to survive, but taking in optimal amounts ensures our body works at optimum levels.
We wrote a quick blog to teach you more (https://www.luminarynd.com/post/water-blog). Feel free to read all of our blogs. Please share to help other in your life, and contact us to learn more about what a functional naturopath at Luminary Natural Wellness can do for you! Thank you for reading!

Happy Solstice Everyone!
Here are some tips for safety in the summertime sun:
Check the UV Index!
1-3 is okay to go out and have some fun without the need for sunscreen if you will be in the sun < one hour. This is a perfect time to get Vitamin D (usually before 10 AM and after 4 PM).
If you do burn easily, try to get at least 20 minutes of sunlight without sunscreen to enhance vitamin D absorption, then consider one of our favorite brands, certified by Environmental Working Group: (avoid sprays to avoid inhalation toxicity)
Thrive Market Mineral Sunscreen
Sun Bum Glow
Mambino Naturals
Purhaven Body Lotion
Soleo Organics
Pacific Bach Organics Riptide Lotion
Two Peas Organics Mineral Sunscreen
Don’t forget to put sunscreen on important areas like the face, scalp, ears, neck, and tops of your hands. We rarely think of protecting these areas, which is why they are the most common areas of skin cancer in Americans.
If you are going out in the sun for a long duration or during high UV times (between 10AM - 4PM) sunscreen may not be enough. Find shade or wear clothes like shirts, hats, shorts, and pants that shield your skin from intense UV rays. Lastly, sunglasses aren’t just for fashion, but will also protect your eyes from harmful UV radiation. Make sure your glasses have UV protection!
Have fun out in the sun and stay safe!
