Delilah is a one-year-old Lab/Terrier mix with a heart of gold and a story of resilience.

As an 8-week-old puppy, Delilah and her littermates survived parvo against the odds. Today, she’s a healthy, happy young dog who is ready to find the forever family she deserves.

Delilah is incredibly affectionate and forms strong bonds with her people. She loves companionship, enjoys being part of the family, and has the sweetest personality. She has completed professional training and has made tremendous progress with her confidence, leash manners, and overall obedience.

Because Delilah loves her humans so much, she thrives with structure and clear boundaries. Her ideal adopter will be someone who understands that confidence comes from consistency. She does best when given opportunities to practice independence, including spending time in her kennel and learning to relax without constant physical contact.

Delilah would especially enjoy a home with another friendly, well-balanced dog to help show her the ropes. She is playful, eager to learn, and responds well to guidance from both people and canine companions.

Her perfect family will:
• Continue reinforcing the training she’s already learned
• Provide structure, routine, and leadership
• Be patient as she settles into a new environment
• Understand that helping her build independence is an act of love

In return, you’ll get a loyal best friend who wants nothing more than to love and be loved.

After everything she’s overcome, Delilah is ready for her happily ever after. Could that be with you?

If you’re interested in meeting Delilah, please submit an adoption application today.

We never imagined we’d be here.

Right now, The Watchdog Foundation has $1.60 in our bank account.

Every dollar we’ve had has gone toward giving dogs a second chance—medical care, training, food, boarding, and the time they need to find the right forever family. We don’t have paid staff. We don’t have a large corporate sponsor. We simply have people who believe these dogs deserve a chance.

Today, we’re asking for help because we can’t do it alone anymore.

Dogs like Delilah are depending on us. She still needs continued training and, if she isn’t adopted soon, we’ll have to begin paying for boarding just to keep her safe. We refuse to give up on her.

If you’ve ever shared one of our posts, rooted for one of our rescue dogs, or celebrated a happy adoption with us, we’re asking you to take one more step.

💛 If 100 people gave just $10, it would completely change where we are today.
💛 If you can give more, every single dollar goes directly to the dogs.

Please donate if you’re able. And if you can’t, sharing this post could help us reach someone who can.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing that every dog deserves a chance.

Meet Lady! 🩷
At just 1.5 years old and a tiny 5 pounds, Lady is the definition of a lap dog. This sweet Maltipoo lives for cuddles, attention, and being close to her people. Whether she’s curled up in your lap, snuggled beside you on the couch, or happily chasing a toy across the room, Lady’s goal is simple: be wherever the love is.
Lady is spayed, up to date on vaccines, housebroken, and crate trained. She sleeps quietly in her crate at night and rides like a pro in the car—even on long road trips! She gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes and has done well with toddlers and older children. She hasn’t been around babies yet.

This playful little girl loves a good game of fetch and will happily chase just about any toy or small ball. Her favorite treat? Ice cubes! She also enjoys going for walks, though she could benefit from some leash training.

Like many small dogs, Lady can be vocal when she hears noises or knocks at the door, and she may do a little excited p*e when meeting new people. Once she settles in, though, her affectionate personality shines.

Lady is being rehomed through no fault of her own. Her family is welcoming a new baby and knows she deserves a home where she can continue receiving the love, attention, and companionship she thrives on.

If you’re looking for a loyal shadow, professional cuddler, and tiny best friend, Lady may be your perfect match. 💕

Process: application, phone call, home check, meet & greet
Rehoming fee: $500

Meet Delilah 💕

Delilah is the kind of dog who makes people fall in love instantly. She’s sweet, affectionate, beautiful, and wants nothing more than to be close to her people.

At just over a year old, Delilah has spent time working with a professional trainer and has made tremendous progress. She’s learning how to walk nicely on a leash, build confidence, and feel more secure in new situations. Every day she continues to show just how smart and willing she is to learn.

Delilah’s biggest challenge is separation anxiety. She bonds deeply with her humans and can become overly dependent on them, which is why she’s looking for an adopter who will provide structure, consistency, and clear boundaries. Her trainer recommends regular kennel time, especially in the beginning, and a home that encourages her independence rather than constant physical contact.

She would likely do best in a home with another confident dog to help show her the ropes and remind her that she’s not alone. Most importantly, she needs someone who understands that love isn’t always about cuddling—sometimes it’s about helping a dog build confidence and resilience.

Delilah has so much potential and is already making incredible strides. With the right person willing to invest in her continued growth, she’s going to become an amazing companion.

If you’re looking for a loyal, loving dog and are committed to helping her continue her journey, Delilah may be your perfect match.

Apply to meet her on our website or feel free to message us with questions!

Look at Delilah go! ❤️

Just a few weeks ago, this sweet girl was struggling with confidence, boundaries, and being away from her people. Thanks to her training program, she’s making incredible progress and learning that the world isn’t such a scary place after all.

Her trainer shared a valuable insight: Delilah’s biggest challenge isn’t a lack of love—it’s that she loves people so much that she struggles when they’re not right beside her. That’s why she’s looking for an adopter who can provide structure, consistency, and a little tough love.

Delilah will thrive with someone who:
🐾 Is committed to continuing her training
🐾 Uses her kennel regularly, especially in the beginning
🐾 Sets healthy boundaries and doesn’t allow constant physical contact
🐾 Understands that helping her build confidence means teaching her to be comfortable on her own
🐾 Has another friendly dog in the home (a huge bonus!)

The best gift you can give Delilah isn’t endless cuddles—it’s the confidence to know she’ll be okay even when you’re a few feet away.

We’re so proud of how far she’s come, and we know her perfect family is out there. ❤️

Interested in adopting Delilah? Send us a message.

Thank you for your help and guidance with Delilah!
