Reel Men Grip Tip of the Day:
A-Clamps are a ubiquitous piece of equipment you can find on any film production.
On set, you probably have heard them referred to as No. 1’s, No. 2’s, or No. 3’s.
But do you know why they are referred to by their numerical monikers?

Even the most seasoned grip on a production might not know that the numerical names of these clamps refer to the diameter of the clamp “jaws,” in inches!
