Healthy LifeStars wouldn't be possible without the incredible coaches who bring The LifeStar Challenge™ to life for kids every day.
This year, we were proud to honor Lance Dunlop as our Healthy LifeStars® Coach of the Year.
A longtime PE teacher with the Tempe Elementary School District and Partnership Chair for Arizona SHAPE, Lance has spent more than a decade creating spaces where every student feels welcome, confident, and excited to participate.
His approach goes beyond physical activity. He focuses on whole child wellness, helping kids build confidence, develop healthy habits, and believe in their ability to succeed.
Lance models exactly what we want for every child. Healthy routines, confidence, goal setting, and encouragement for all.

Step Up for Kids™ raised just over $150,000 this year 💙
These funds will support Healthy LifeStars programs for kids across Arizona and in communities nationwide, including New Orleans.
This video offers a glimpse into what that impact looks like. Kids building confidence, discovering movement, and developing lifelong healthy habits.
As we continue to grow, our goal is simple. Reach more schools, more communities, and more kids who can benefit from accessible, engaging health programs.

🥦🍎 March is National Nutrition Month! 🍓🥕
Did you know that the foods kids eat today help power their bodies, brains, and energy for play, learning, and growing strong?
At Healthy LifeStars, we teach kids that healthy eating isn’t about strict rules, it’s about building fun, colorful plates that fuel their day!
Here are a few LifeStars tips to try this week:
⭐ Eat the rainbow – Try fruits and vegetables in lots of colors. Each color gives your body different nutrients!
⭐ Snack smart – Swap chips for apple slices with peanut butter or yogurt with berries.
⭐ Drink water first – Water helps keep kids energized and focused.
⭐ Get kids involved – Let them help pick fruits and veggies at the store or prepare a healthy snack at home.
Healthy habits learned early can last a lifetime — and every small step counts. 💙
