The Acquarius inspection has begun! CPM Pipelines partnered with Acquaint technicians on the jobsite installed launch and retrieval tubes yesterday followed with the cleaning pig to prepare the pipe for the inspection. Today, the in-line smart pig tool, Acquarius will be launched to assess the condition of a 20-inch raw water line, comprised of bar wrapped pipe, approximately 1 mile in length that supplies a water treatment plant located in Texas. Acquarius will move through the pipe with the flow of water measuring wall thickness, subsidence, deformations, delamination, joint defects, corrosion, leaching, sulfate attack and plot XYZ locations using ultrasonic sound waves and magnetic field wave technologies. This is the first inspection of its type in North America and CPM Pipelines is honored to partner with Acquaint to provide innovative, free swimming inspection technologies with data driven results for our clients in the United States.
