A student’s individual skills or development may require a unique environment. What makes educational consultants knowledgeable is their extensive knowledge of boarding schools and therapeutic programs throughout the United States. There are hundreds of programs, making it very confusing for parents to navigate. In our combined 40 + years of experience, we have visited hundreds of schools in our c
areers, and we spend up to 30% of our time each year visiting schools to gain knowledge so that we can help families objectively choose the best option for their child. We also have an extensive network of relationships with schools, mental health professionals, child transportation services, insurance and legal professionals to assist in the placement processes. Optimal Edu Options works with you to determine the best placement alternatives for your child. Through a comprehensive consulting, planning and counseling process, the first step is an initial consultation between NPM & A and the family. We will identify the needs of the student, the family’s expectations and discussion of our ability to advocate for what is in the best interest of the student. If, after the consultation, the family would like to move forward, an interview with the student and parent (s) occurs. This is accomplished through phone, Skype or a personal interview. The manner in which we meet is entirely up to the family. During the initial contact, we will explain our areas of specialization in placements for students with:
• Learning disabilities;
• Emotional disorders;
• Special needs populations;
• Young adult transitions; and
• Substance about issues. We also work with families who are moving to Arizona and are looking for help in choosing the best school (whether private, charter or public) for their child(ren). We will provide a thorough evaluation and assessment of transcripts, reports, testing, activities and interests of the student and talk with the significant people in his life, and offer choices for the family to review. We will also make referrals for additional testing, if necessary. We will recommend a plan of action, including, if applicable, a short list of schools and programs considered appropriate for your child.
