I love that worshiping the Lord with our voice works in tandem with the surrender it takes to walk with Him. The more I study the Science of the voice I realize so much of it is representing how we should live our lives. Singing requires aligning the vocal cords and ALLOWING the Breath to move through them to produce sound. I truly believe this is one of the reasons we are called to sing as worship...because it shows us what it is to surrender. To align ourselves with the Lord and be ready and open to what He calls us to do...and then to allow His Breath, His Spirit to move through us.
Sometimes we try to control too much...in singing and in life! I often have to stop and remind myself to relax, release the tension, shake it out, whatever...and just surrender. Not holding too tightly to my ideas of how it should turn out, but simply trusting that the Lord is going to do HIS work...my only job is to align with Him and let Him move. That is my act of worship...surrendering my whole self...my life, my heart, my voice...All to Jesus I surrender.
