Boundary reminder for mobile therapists
Sharing a recent experience as a general heads-up for others doing mobile/in-home work.
I had a potential client outside my primary service area request first-time pricing and then attempt to negotiate it by comparing mileage, drive times, and proximity to nearby cities. When I held to my posted service boundaries and pricing structure, the conversation escalated into accusations of “inflexibility” and criticism of my communication style.
Just a reminder:

• Primary service areas exist for a reason
• Drive time comparisons don’t obligate discounts
• Explaining policies once is sufficient
• If a client pushes pricing boundaries before booking, it’s okay to disengage
Protect your time, energy, and body. Holding boundaries is not unprofessional.
