Bleeding disorders are life-threatening, debilitating, and expensive to treat with many physical, emotional and social challenges. A child with severe Hemophilia will spend over $150,000 annually to prevent bleeding. Some children and adults build up inhibitors to the treatment and the costs can exceed $1,000,000 per year. Failure to preventatively treat the disorder can result in prolonged painfu

Advocacy Update!

Earlier this year, AZBD's Future Leaders traveled to Washington, D.C. for Washington Days, where they met with members of Congress and shared their stories while advocating for issues important to the bleeding disorders community, including the FED UP with Bleeding Disorders Act.

We are excited to share that the FED UP with Bleeding Disorders Act has officially been introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives! This bipartisan legislation aims to address many of the barriers faced by women and girls living with bleeding disorders by reviewing federal programs, improving provider education, increasing access to treatment and services, encouraging inclusion in clinical trials, and creating a national awareness campaign.

This is a great reminder that advocacy works! We are excited to continue building momentum and advancing awareness for women and girls with bleeding disorders!

Come join the AZBD, PCH, and Sanofi for a camp HONOR readiness educational dinner and really find out how ready your kids need to be for camp!

We’ll talk through the camp experience, common parent concerns( like packing medication!), and what to expect throughout the week. We'll also go through how Camp HONOR helps campers build confidence, independence, and connection within the bleeding disorders community.
