This world of Zoom meetings and video calls is definitely a source of stress for those in the deaf and hard of hearing community. I recently saw a situation where a college professor was chastising a student for not paying attention. The student however is hard of hearing and was using an interpreter to participate in class. This may seem like an extreme example, but it is something our community faces on a regular basis. A little understanding and accommodation can go a long way.

St. Paddy's Day is part of my husband's heritage and we have traveled to Ireland MANY TIMES (10-12 times). Happy St. Patrick's Day to all!

As the weather continues to warm it's appropriate this is National Flower Month. Nothing brings calmness and comfort quite like the sight and smell of a room full of flowers.

Are you claiming your place in history? It’s Deaf Women’s Herstory month, and I have to think back to the positive influences in the deaf community that have contributed to my personal story. Today we celebrate International Women’s Day. As both a woman and a leader, I know firsthand how important it is to keep fighting for our rights. Women make the world a better place each and every day!

I just finished filming a segment with for tonight’s Horizon on the recent addition of ASL interpreters at all news briefings for the Biden administration. It is expected to air at 5 and 10 p.m. tonight. I appreciate them for having me as part of the show.
