The IFMA Greater Phoenix Chapter Annual Charity Golf Tournament is largest and most popular event hosted by the chapter but arguably, it is also the most important event of the year!

This golf tournament raises funds for several charities that impact our immediate community as well as the future of the facility management industry. We would like to introduce you to these inspiring organizations starting with Girls Can Build.

Girls Can Build is an Arizona-based initiative powered by Sharp Construction with a mission to break down barriers to women in the industries of construction, design and engineering. By spearheading and supporting projects, opportunities and mentorship in these industries, we aim to inspire young women to be Bold To Build.

It may be too late to play or sponsor in the tournament but you can still get involved and make a difference to these charities by making Raffle Prize donations or Goody Bag items.

Imagine being a brilliant problem-solver and inventor who creates all sorts of cool stuff using your imagination and science know-how. That’s a mechanical engineer!

Mechanical engineers design awesome machines like cars, airplanes, roller coasters, and fun toys. They make things move smoothly and safely, figuring out how elevators go up and down or how your bicycle pedals spin.

These magical engineers love solving puzzles and brain-teasers using math and science to find clever solutions. They invent new things that make life easier, more fun, and sometimes even save the day!

Working with other experts like electrical engineers and designers, mechanical engineers create amazing projects that change the world. They explore technology like 3D printers and computer programs to bring their ideas to life.

Being a mechanical engineer is like being a superhero inventor who turns dreams into reality. If you love solving puzzles, tinkering with gadgets, and dreaming big, then being a mechanical engineer might just be the perfect adventure for you! Keep dreaming big, little scientist!

Imagine you have a dream of designing and creating your very own robot friend. You want it to be smart, helpful, and super cool. Now, who would you need to help you turn that dream into a reality? That’s where an electrical engineer comes in!

An electrical engineer is like a super smart scientist who works with electricity and makes amazing things. They use their knowledge and skills to design and build all sorts of gadgets and devices. Just like how you make a robot, they create things that use electricity to work.

First, they think of cool ideas and come up with a plan. They use their imagination to figure out how to make things work using electricity. It’s like solving a puzzle!

Then, they draw special designs and make sure everything is connected the right way. They create circuits, which are like tiny roads for electricity to travel on. They make sure all the parts of a device, like lights or buttons, are connected so they can do their jobs.

Next, they test their creations to make sure they work perfectly. They make sure the electricity flows smoothly and that nothing gets too hot or breaks. It’s like giving your robot a test run to see if it can do all the cool things you want it to do.

Sometimes, electrical engineers work on really big things, like power plants. These are places where electricity is made. They help make sure that the power plants are safe and that they give electricity to lots of people.

Electrical engineers are like magicians who make things come to life with electricity. They are very smart and use their skills to create all the amazing gadgets and devices we use every day, like phones, computers, and even cool toys!

So, if you love thinking of new ideas, solving puzzles, and making things that use electricity, being an electrical engineer could be a super fun and exciting job for you! You could help make the world a more amazing place with your inventions.
