Moving Meditations: A Five-Session Journey into Embodied Awareness

Moving Meditations is a class series designed to help you cultivate mindfulness, ease tension, and connect with your body through gentle, intentional movement. Each 50-minute session blends breath, fluid motion, and somatic awareness to create a moving meditation practice that nourishes both body and mind.

What Are Moving Meditations?

Moving meditations are an embodied approach to mindfulness, where movement becomes the anchor for presence, much like the breath in traditional seated meditation. By engaging in slow, rhythmic, and exploratory motion, participants learn to tune into sensations, emotions, and energy shifts within their bodies. This practice promotes relaxation, self-awareness, and nervous system regulation.

Key Takeaways from the Series
* A deeper connection to your body and breath
* Practical tools for reducing stress and enhancing presence
* Increased body awareness and self-compassion
* A personalized moving meditation practice you can continue beyond the class

No prior movement or meditation experience is required—just a willingness to explore and listen to your body in new ways. Join us for Moving Meditations and experience the power of mindful movement as a path to greater well-being.

Registration closes April 17th at 11:59p

All sessions take place on zoom and will be recorded. Each session is approximately 45 minutes. Edited replays will be made available to all participants.

About the event

In times of uncertainty and unrest, our nervous system plays a crucial role in shaping our experiences, reactions, and ability to navigate daily life. This interactive workshop, led by multidisciplinary artist and trauma-informed educator Molly W. Schenck, offers a compassionate and curious exploration of how our bodies respond to stress, change, and ambiguity.

Drawing from trauma-informed creative practices, somatic movement, and Polyvagal Theory, this session will provide participants with tools to recognize and regulate their nervous system states. Through guided movement, reflective discussions, and creative prompts, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how to shift from survival responses to states of connection, creativity, and resilience.

This workshop is designed for artists, educators, healers, and anyone seeking a more embodied approach to mental well-being in challenging times. No prior movement experience is necessary—just a willingness to explore and engage.

Participants can expect a mix of lecture, guided movement, reflection, and discussion over the two hours. It is recommended that participants come prepared in clothes they can move in, a space that allows for some movement, and a journal or something to write/draw in.

Join Molly as we learn to navigate the blues while embracing the grey, finding new ways to ground ourselves and move forward with greater ease.

Testimonial: "Molly has an incredibly soothing voice and a wide breadth of knowledge on the topic. Not even 10 minutes into the workshop, my mind was being blown and I was having back to back "ah-ha" moments as I connected the work back to my experience in education and artistry."
