“Being in Soldiers Best Friend has been a long journey due to personal issues, COVID, and various delays. After two years, we have finally completed the program, and I couldn’t be happier! Baby has literally saved my life in so many ways.

He gives me a reason to get up, go outside, and play—helping me live a life I once struggled to embrace. He’s not just a dog; he’s my sidekick, my camping buddy, and my best friend!

I am incredibly thankful for Soldiers Best Friend! They have shown immense patience through my personal challenges and the external obstacles we all faced.

I just want to say, ‘Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!’ I can’t express my gratitude enough!” 💚✨

🌟🐾 Story Spotlight: Meet Ashley and Athena 🌟

“When I started the program, I knew having a service dog would help me, but I had no idea just how much it would change my life. For years, I’ve struggled with PTSD and physical limitations, and Athena has been amazing! She’s already helping me far more than I ever thought possible.

Although the pandemic has worsened my challenges, Athena has truly improved my life. I can proudly say she has eased many of my problems and pains. She picked up her training quickly, and it was fun to discover how she reacts to different situations and what she’s capable of. I couldn’t have made it through this journey without Ashley and Allison—Ashley went out of her way to help me when I felt frustrated, always encouraging and supportive.

I found Athena online late one night, and she was in a terrible situation, being used as a bait dog. I was told to pick her up ASAP. When I met her, she was terrified, shaking, and unsure of what to think of me. My goal for the first month was to help her get comfortable and potty trained. Initially, I just wanted to save her and find her a loving home, but she quickly found her place in our hearts and in our home. I wouldn’t change it for the world—I had no idea she would change my life forever!” 💚✨

“When I found out I had been accepted into the program, my wife said, ‘Do you know how much this is going to change your life?’ I replied, ‘Yes’—then ‘No?’ I knew Stella would become a service dog, but I had no idea how exciting and emotional this journey would be.

I didn’t expect everyone in the organization to be so nice and caring, nor did I know how skilled the trainers would be. I truly wouldn’t have made it without Karen; her expertise was amazing, and I learned so much from her. Allison was just as fantastic!

I cannot thank Soldier’s Best Friend enough. Thank you from both Stella and myself!” 💚✨

“My journey in getting my service dog trained had its challenges at the beginning. It took a lot of patience from both Akira and me, but it eventually became a fantastic bonding experience. Soldier’s Best Friend made it all possible with their incredible trainers who understood our hectic schedules.

They provided me with all the tools necessary to train Akira in a timely manner. Thanks to them, I can now be independent and have a new permanent addition to my family.

🌟🐾 Story Spotlight: Meet Keith and Ellie 🌟

“A few words . . . Soldier’s Best Friend has been the best thing that has happened to me since my initial diagnosis. Ellie has replaced endless therapy sessions and medications. The training we received has fostered a bond I never imagined.

At home, without her vest, Ellie is just a fun-loving dog who brings joy and love to our family—especially to my wife, who appreciates Ellie’s knack for picking up my dirty clothes and taking them to the laundry room!

Once the vest goes on, Ellie knows her responsibilities shift to me. She provides vigilance, environmental assessment, and the comfort of knowing I can venture out into the world with someone watching my back. I truly feel she has my “six”!

🌟🐾 Story Spotlight: Meet Terry and Koda 🌟

“I spent 22 years making my career my life, but I had no clue how challenging civilian life would be. My wife and I noticed many veterans with service dogs, which sparked our interest. We started researching the benefits and reached out to Soldier’s Best Friend for help.

At the time, we had two German Shepherds, so we decided to train Koda as my service dog. It sounded great until our first day. I struggled to get Koda into the car, then out of the car, and he was determined to have more fun dragging me around the parking lot instead of walking into the Chandler American Legion! It took three of us just to get him inside to start class.

Fast forward to today—Koda is my battle buddy. He’s my best friend, always watching my back and my mood. He knows when I need him and keeps me happy, laughing, and calm. He can even find Mom when I need her or provide support when I need a brace.

I want to thank Soldier’s Best Friend for everything they’ve done, especially the trainers who have become lifelong supportive friends: Karin, Allison, Val, Isabel, and Terri. We will forever be grateful.” 💚✨
