The Rest: A Healing Space for Caregivers and Service Providers

Join Assata’s House for The Rest, a free community event designed to honor and support Black mothers, BIPOC femmes, caregivers, and service providers. This event offers a dedicated space for rest, rejuvenation, and self-care, acknowledging the unique challenges faced by those who provide care and support to others. Through restorative healing practices and a supportive community environment, we aim to empower attendees with tools for personal wellness and connection.

What to Expect:
Enjoy healing practices such as massage, reiki, acupuncture, and a group Reiki teach-in to explore energy healing techniques you can use at home. Cozy up in our quiet rest spaces, bring a book, your favorite sweatshirt, or something to write with, and connect with others who value care and regeneration. A family-friendly zone will be available to create an inclusive environment where caregivers and families can participate together, ensuring all feel welcome and supported.

Co-sponsored by the Philadelphia Folklore Project, this event invites you to embrace rest as a powerful act of care and community.
