The Skills Initiative

Are you looking to grow in your career as an experienced welder? Hanwha Hanwha Philly Shipyard has partnered with The Skills Initiative to design a program to prepare job seekers with the skills and knowledge needed to excel as Welders at Hanwha Philly Shipyard’s industrial shipbuilding site located at the Navy Yard.

Participants accepted into our program will actively engage in comprehensive training, which includes 2 weeks of professional development, 4 weeks of classroom instruction on ship orientation and shop math, and 8 weeks of hands-on naval welding training. We are seeking individuals who are dependable, collaborative, and detail-oriented, with at least 1 year of welding experience.
