Tonight’s group education at was nourishing in more ways than one.
It filled my heart AND it filled the minds of some parents-to-be with tools to eat well and stay afloat through pregnancy and postpartum.
At the end of group I asked attendees to describe one takeaway. Here is what they chose:
1. Use a rolling cart to make a mobile diaper AND SNACK station (take it a step further and add a leash. I’m not kidding. So you can grab it with your feet (if you must) and get yourself a snack when baby has you nap trapped).
2. Keep nonperishable snacks in your diaper bag at all times. Think of it the same as your diaper, wipes and spare outfit. It’s something you refill every time you pack the bag. Even if you don’t need it. Because you never know.
3. Drink bone broth postpartum. Fun fact from chef Nan at , it’s actually really easy to make your own bone broth with marrow bones from the butcher and an instant pot. Pro tip: freeze in individual portions for easy drinking postpartum.
