I don’t talk about my day job much but seeing these photos made me appreciate that this is one of my proudest moments at work. Planning a successful large scale event! In 2020 I had a Teen Resource Fair scheduled for April which got cancelled due to the pandemmy.
I’ve been dreaming of us hosting an alternative prom for years. I had been working since early February to diversify the library programming list and making sure the *new* city programming budget went to good use. I wanted us to incorporate the amazing local talents of individuals like DJ , Awesome Drag Performers & ,

I was a lead organizer, and curated a lot of the decor as well as planning logistics. It was a big team effort.
The teens picked the theme of ‘Villains’ Night’ and had an absolute blast.

This is not your meemaw’s library. It’s lit! 😆

We have great programs coming up for Pride and beyond for youth 12-18 oh and of course lots of books too!
