The first episode of the British science fiction comedy series Red Dwarf aired February 15, 1988 on BBC Two. The series would initially run until April 5, 1999, then return in 2009 for more seasons and a feature-length special. Created by Rob Grant and Doug NaylorIt, it stars Craig Charles, Chris Barrie, Danny John-Jules, Robert Llewellyn, Norman Lovett, Hattie Hayridge, and Clare Grogan.
