We recently returned from an unforgettable journey with UJA-Federation of New York, exploring the Eternal City through a profound Jewish lens. From the Arch of Titu, where history was transformed from a story of exile into one of resilience, to a private, after-hours moment of silence beneath the Sistine Chapel, every step felt like a bridge between our ancient past and a vibrant future. Walking through the Roman Forum and the Colosseum with expert guides, we didn’t just see ruins; we uncovered the hidden narratives of the Jewish Diaspora woven into the very stones of the city.
The heartbeat of the trip was the people. We transitioned from the solemnity of Yom HaZikaron at the Fosse Ardeatine Mausoleum to the electric joy of Yom Ha’atzmaut celebrations in the heart of the Ghetto alongside the local community. Between an intimate dinner at the home of the President of the Jewish Community of Rome and a briefing with the Israeli Ambassador, we experienced the warmth of a "mishpacha" that spans continents. This wasn't just a tour; it was a powerful reminder that no matter where we are in the world, our story is one of enduring strength and shared celebration. 🇮🇹

What an unforgettable journey with the Jewish Federation of Detroit! Our Women’s Mission to Mexico City was a beautiful tapestry of culture, history, and sisterhood. From the moment we landed and kicked off our trip with a vibrant welcome dinner at Guzina Oaxaca, complete with Mariachi, Mezcal, and handmade tortillas,to our awe-inspiring visit to the Pyramids of Teotihuacán, every moment felt intentional. We walked through the historic Zócalo, marveled at the murals at the MVA Museum, and found inspiration in the colorful halls of the Frida Kahlo Museum. It wasn't just about the sights; it was about the shared laughter over incredible meals at Limosneros and Saks, and the reflection sessions that brought us closer together.
Beyond the tourism, this mission allowed us to witness the heartbeat of the Mexican Jewish community. We explored the stunning architecture of the Justo Sierra and Mount Sinai synagogues, connecting with our shared heritage across borders. Meeting with local Lions of Judah, the Central Committee, and leaders at the Centro Deportivo Israelita and Olami ORT school showed us the incredible impact of global Jewish partnership. We return to Detroit with full hearts, new friendships, and a deepened pride in the strength of our global community. 💙✡️

What an unforgettable journey through the heart of Mexico City with the Jewish Federation of San Francisco-Bay Area! Our mission was a vibrant immersion into the "CDMX" spirit, starting with a festive welcome at Guzina Oaxaca, complete with mezcal tastings and handmade tortillas and moving through the breathtaking architecture of Casa Gilardi and the world-renowned Anthropology Museum. From the colorful canals of Xochimilco to the intimate halls of the Frida Kahlo Museum, we explored the intersection of Mexican soul and Jewish resilience, guided by the expert insights of Dr. Sara Aroeste.
The spiritual heart of our trip was felt most deeply during our heritage tours of the Justo Sierra and Mount Sinai Synagogues, tracing the diverse roots of Mexico’s Jewish community. Sharing a warm Kabbalat Shabbat at Bet El and visiting the impressive Centro Deportivo Israelita (CDI) allowed us to see firsthand how 18,000 community members unite through culture, sport, and shared identity. We return home inspired by the warmth of our hosts and the enduring strength of the Mexican-Jewish diaspora. ¡Viva México! ✨🙌
