Stop: Until there is a cure we need to stop MS attacks and progression of the disease. The mechanism of action of current therapies is being investigated to help gain clues as to how these treatments affect Regulatory T-cells so that these insights can improve current drugs and help design better drugs for treating MS in the future. Cure: In collaboration with other researchers MSRI is involved in the development of an entirely new approach to treating the inflammation in MS which harms myelin and neurons. This treatment will hopefully reduce or possibly eliminate the inflammatory process as well as disease progression, both of which adversely impact the lives of those who suffer from MS. MSRI is a stand-alone Institute which is solely focused on MS research and the dissemination of information about relevant current research.
