First things first, I want to make it clear that sugar, added sugar included, is NOT bad. Added sugar, however, should be limited and enjoyed more in moderation. 😋
Added sugars supply no nutritional value to the body, and the excess calories that added sugars provide can contribute to weight gain. Also, when overconsumed, added sugar may lead to obesity, tooth decay, heart disease, and type 2 diabetes. As in all things, balance is key to a healthful diet and lifestyle. 😊
