What happens to speech after entering a listener's mind? In a new paper, Spencer Caplan (https://spencercaplan.org), John Trueswell (https://web.sas.upenn.edu/trueswell-lab) and Alon Hafri (https://alonhafri.wixsite.com/home) show that understanding speech involves no retention of the acoustic signal over time.

Signing Black in America is a documentary about Black American Sign Language, a unique dialect of American Sign Language (ASL).
"The film aims to foster an understanding of the socio-cultural role of language, the history of Black ASL, creating awareness of Black ASL and the Black Deaf community, and raising awareness about language stereotypes and prejudices."

We're very excited to announce that our wonderful postdoc, Alex de Carvalho, just got a a tenured position as an Associate Professor of the Department of Psychology at the University of Paris Descartes - Sorbonne University!
