What happens to speech after entering a listener's mind? Signing Black in America is a documentary about Black American Sign Language, a unique dialect of American Sign Language (ASL).

"The film aims to foster an understanding of the socio-cultural role of language, the history of Black ASL, creating awareness of Black ASL and the Black Deaf community, and raising awareness about language stereotypes and prejudices."

We're very excited to announce that our wonderful postdoc, Alex de Carvalho, just got a a tenured position as an Associate Professor of the Department of Psychology at the University of Paris Descartes - Sorbonne University! We're going to miss him very much but are looking forward to having an excuse to visit Paris more often :)
