The company’s founder, Don Shump, has been raising bees since 2007 and manages hives across all regions of Philadelphia.

We first met Amy Thatcher more than a decade ago, when she called us to remove a colony of bees that had taken up residence in the facade of the Richmond Branch Library. And the rest, as they say, is history. Amy has been an enthusiastic beekeeper, our favorite librarian, and dear friend since.

If anyone deserves to be Citizen of the Week it's certainly Amy!

REMOVAL UPDATE: Memories

Back at the property where we vacuumed up a late summer nest of European hornets and subsequently had them lifted. This time was an easier time of it. Yellow jackets are off to a slower start this season so this nest was relatively small.
