The humble empty metal film canister, Capsa pelliculae photographicæ is a sedentary creature often called “cinema coral” they tend to hide within basements and screening rooms where they rest and nurture growing film reels in their hard exterior shells.
Here at the resource exchange we have a large colony of them that have settled after a migration. They traveled here from our amazing donors the Special Collections Research Center at Temple University Libraries!
In their short time in our store the empty film canisters have bonded with our analog film projectors which keep them safe from their natural predators DVDs.
Prices vary on the various members of the empty film canister colony please feel free to stop by and get to know them. If you feel a connection take one home and nurture it so that they have the space they need to grow. When they are ready you can open the shell and harvest an indie film from its interior! Why buy new?!
