Gesu School
Hailed as a national model for inner-city education, Gesu School is an independent Catholic, Jesuit school educating 450 children in Pre-K through 8th grade in the Jesuit and IHM traditions. In a city where approximately 69% of public high school students graduate from high school in four years, approximately 90% percent of Gesu alumni graduate from high school on time, and of those graduates, more than 85% go on to college or post-secondary education.

Gesu families and friends! Gesu alumna Jada Smith ’13, founder of S.W.A.G. (Scholars With Athletic, Academic, and Artistic Goals), will host the Girls With SWAG Do It All Basketball Clinic on August 15 at Merion Mercy Academy from 9:00am to 4:30pm. This one-day program, designed for girls in grades 5–12, combines basketball instruction with engaging workshops focused on personal growth and achievement. As the school year came to a close, Gesu students celebrated with an exciting field day full of fun, enthusiasm, and school spirit! Students in Grades 1 through 7 took turns enjoying a variety of activities, sports, and field games, including track, basketball, soccer, baseball, co****le, and more. Our community also enjoyed soft pretzels and other refreshments as a treat during this eventful day. Thank you to all our students, faculty, and staff for bringing such great energy and making this year’s field day a memorable way to kick off summer!
