'Milk Like Sugar' by Kirsten Greenidge captures voices that are often shunned or looked over in the tapestry of life (and theatre). Nastassja Baset (Annie), in all her splendor, pulled audience heartstrings with her charisma and talents; watching her unravel in what seemed to be a hodgepodge of dead-end possibilities, deeply engaged theater-goers clutched for hope against what seemed to be the stereotype Annie was destined to repeat. Kimberly S. Fairbanks (Myrna) is artistically stunning; bringing multiple dimensions to a mother character often marginalized to 'angry' or 'misguided' and dismissed as human due to her circumstances. Walter DeShields (Antwoine) never disappoints and always a pleasure to see on stage. Melanie Lawrence, Danielle Leneé, Curtisha Starks and Brandon Pierce were great energetic additions in bringing 'Milk Like Sugar' life. A MUST SEE PRODUCTION!! Running NOW through March 8!
