UNPOPULAR BELIEF:
The reason why you’re always tired is because you truly need emotional healing.

Not more exercise
Not more sleep
Not more supplements
Not more coffee

Practice choosing yourself every time and bring the guilt to therapy.
This is a great way to change the survival programming you had to learn as a child to please other people.
Every time you choose yourself, you are being authentic.
Every time you choose yourself, you are living and not surviving.
And life is meant to be lived not just to survive.
So choose yourself every time and bring the guilt to therapy.

Many families have taught us that no matter what, even when there’s abuse, hurt, neglect, abandonment, shame, judgment, dysfunction or betrayal, you should always have to choose your family.
Read that again…
This holiday season, may you be the reason that ends the cycle of inter-generational trauma.

Posted • Today we kicked off our volunteer project: Empowering Women and Young Girls through sharing your stories.

Today we had the opportunity to meet the women and girls we will be working with for the next few days.

We started off introducing ourselves and playing the “starburst game” - you pick a color and answer the question that corresponds with the color (what do you want to be? Your favorite memory? Your hobby? Etc.)

Then we drew our Past Present & Future Self where we reflected on our childhood, adversities, what we are grateful for and how we want our future to look like.

The girls practiced Standing up and sharing their stories with confidence and sharing their hopes and dreams.

This is just the first day and we established rapport.
Tomorrow is an exciting day for all of us!

I’m late to finish my September Books but here they are:⁣

𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗱𝗼𝘄 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗯𝘆 a beautiful way of understanding psychology, the brain and trauma and how shadow work helps individuals achieve their full potential. “It’s like neuroscience and witchcraft” Highly recommend.⁣

𝗚𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗶𝘀 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝘆 narrated the way she navigated her grief and it was beautifully written because it is how we all navigate grief but society told us otherwise to “be strong”, “push through”, “be happy they’re in a better place”. If you’re sad because your loved one died, be sad and don’t pretend to be otherwise because society told you so.⁣

𝗨𝗻𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝘆 OMG such a powerful book about sexual violence and the truth about the movement. It’s amazing what females go through and still turn out to be smart, beautiful, and accomplished women. This book twisted my heart.⁣

𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗦𝗮𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗯𝘆 is a beautiful odd story about a girl who can taste feelings from people who cooked or baked or made the food. It was entertaining.⁣

Check them all out! ⁣
