They began with a Gospel Wagon, which they drove through the city of Philadelphia spreading the message of salvation. In 1918, the congregation voted to affiliate with the then-new Assemblies of God. Past pastors of Highway have included two men who went on to the position of General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, as well as district presbyters.
