Posted • had the absolute best time touring .fas’ facilities & office today! massive thanks to Sarah K. & the entire Atelier team for taking the time to share the company’s history (2nd gen family owned, started by a local Philly artist, most employees are artists themselves), future expansion plans, range of storage options & packing services, fabrication shop, viewing room & gallery, & more. Both the tour and conversation were definitely a highlight of this month and the perfect closing to it.

this year i’m keenly focused on shoring up the foundations of both the business & operations aspects of being a working artist with a studio to manage. storage and outsourcing certain labor intensive tasks that i’m physically unable to manage on my own due to disability are a large part of that and challenges i’ve been seeking viable and affordable solutions to over the last year.

i’ve worked with Atelier off and on for various projects since 2021, and am always impressed with how they operate; investing in storage and utilizing more of their services just feels like an aligned fit as well as a cost structure that is accessible and will be sustainable for my studio’s operational budget.

anyway, just wanted to be transparent & share insights into a growing aspect of my experience as a working artist in case it’s helpful to another. it’s not one of the fun, glamorous, easy, or flashier parts, but it has quickly become an essential need and challenge to tackle.

here’s to growth and to more necessary, helpful resources and services for artists becoming more widely accessible and available. thank you Atelier for leading the way 🫡
