Commissions provide an outlet for my quiet, muso-architectural brain to stew, build, deconstruct and reconstruct...this one, in celebration of an anniversary for this chorus was set in a landscape I could feel and see - crisp, sage & piñon fragranced air and birdsong ringing across the high desert tufts. I loved making a piano part though I had to practice extra to be able to play it in the premiere!
