New York needs to step up in a serious way. Families across the state are food insecure and we need every tool to make sure they donāt go hungry.
The NYS Food Rescue Tax Credit (A9329/S8878) reduces food waste, supports farmers, and gets fresh food to communities that need it most. It was in the Assembly budget. The Governorās office is pushing to remove it.
At the exact moment federal food programs are being cut, Albany is making moves to weaken the safety nets of our most vulnerable neighbors.
The answer was in our food system all along.
