It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Shawn Fenerty, a beloved member of the Sandmeyer Steel Company family, at the age of 68.
Shawn dedicated 48 years of service to Sandmeyer Steel Company before retiring on March 15, 2024 - exactly 48 years to the day from when he first walked through our doors as a young man fresh out of George Washington High School in Northeast Philadelphia.
Starting as an Office Messenger, Shawn built an extraordinary career defined by leadership, commitment, and an unmatched passion for the Company and our customers. Over the years, he held numerous roles within our Sales organization, ultimately serving as Vice President - National Sales before finishing his career as District Sales Manager - Southeast.
From Philadelphia to California and eventually the Carolinas, Shawn left a lasting impact everywhere he went. Under his leadership, California became our #1 sales state, and throughout his career he helped shape the growth and success of Sandmeyer Steel Company for generations to come.
But more than the titles he held, Shawn will be remembered for the relationships he built, the people he mentored, and the pride he carried for this Company every single day. He was truly one of a kind.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Peggy, his children Kristen and Sean, his grandchildren, and all who knew and loved him.
Shawn’s legacy will forever remain part of the fabric of Sandmeyer Steel Company.
