“This shoot was to pay homage to all the Black Beauty/Style/ we didn’t get to see in American History’s eras -highest peak of racism. I’m sure so many of our fly great grands just wanted to enjoy a day pool 🏊‍♀️side while reading a Black publication while being unbothered in everyday life. I bet they dreamed of just wanted to relax and not having to fight to survive. We have so many textures to our stories, it’s important to give voice to all types of representation within our culture because it’s important to give homage to whose shoulders we stand on.” - Daze
