Summer is full of opportunities to keep reading joyful.
A book at bedtime. A story on the porch. A library visit. A conversation after reading together. These simple moments can help children build language, strengthen comprehension, and connect reading to their own lives.
One easy way to support young readers is to ask questions that help them think, wonder, and make meaning.
Try questions like:
- What did this story make you think about?
- What do you notice about this character?
- What surprised you?
- What does this remind you of?
- What would you ask the author?
Strong literacy moments often begin with curiosity, conversation, and space for children to share what they are thinking.
