ONE-SITTING THRILLERS 🔎🖤 aka 6 thrillers I think will get you out of a reading slump + keep you turning the pages!! FIRST LIE WINS: I was fighting off a reading slump earlier this month when I picked up FIRST LIE WINS… and this book totalllly cured me. This is a totally addictive con woman thriller that is truly just a FUN read. Characters with SO many secrets + WATCH OUT FOR HER: If you love thrillers about obsession, this book is a great choice. It follows a woman who moves across the country to escape the young woman she and her husband had hired as a babysitter for their son—but she soon begins to wonder if her past has caught up to her. THE LAST ONE: we all know I love a cruise ship thriller, and Will Dean’s take on this genre is SO dang addictive. A woman on a cruise one morning wakes up to discover that everyone else on the ship has vanished - she’s totally alone in the middle of the ocean. This book is WILD and compulsively readable!! WATCHING YOU: ok sooo realistically I think ANY Lisa Jewell book could work in this list!!! Lisa’s books are basically always one-sitting reads for me, but I wanted to highlight an older fave of mine here. WATCHING YOU is a domestic suspense story about a suspicious death in a picture-perfect neighborhood. THE WEIGHT OF LIES: another older fave of mine!! This book is SUCH a hidden gem. It follows a young woman - the daughter of a famous horror writer - who investigates the real-life murder that inspired her mom’s bestselling novel. Atmospheric, a little bit creepy, and SOO freaking fun. THE HAUNTING OF MADDY CLARE: speaking of creepy, I am *obsessed* with all things Simone St. James, and her historical supernatural suspense novel THE HAUNTING OF MADDY CLARE is my fave book of hers!! This book follows a young woman who takes a job as the assistant to a ghost hunter. Yes, you read that right. Spooky + with a touch of romance, this book is seriously irresistible.
