Beautiful short trip to a rented cabin in the mountains for Emily's birthday. Did we immediately get lost in the woods 25 feet away from our cabin? Did I sit up wide awake all night startled at every single sound in the pitch black darkness outside? Who's to say. But we did rewatch Paulie and Chrissy from the Sopranos get lost in the Pine Barrens and be immediately reminded of My Cousin Vinny every single time we walked into any establishment and felt people's eyes on us.

We may not be cut out for the wilderness. And maybe we're immune to the sounds of city life that include regular random screaming, police sirens, and sometimes getting on a horrific smelling bus or subway car and trying to avoid the most out of their mind person you've ever encountered, but at least I didn't think I heard a ghost in the woods and now I cant sleep.

It was beautiful. I love winter. I love spending beautiful winter trips with my beautiful wife and I'm looking forward to many more for the rest of our lives.
