Today, we mark the 57th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, a rebellion born of exhaustion, courage, and an unshakable belief that every person deserves to live freely and without fear. 🏳️‍🌈

In the early hours of June 28, 1969, LGBTQ+ New Yorkers, many of them Black & Brown transgender women, drag queens, and young people with nowhere else to turn, said enough is enough. What began as an act of resistance amplified a movement already in motion and sent its call for justice echoing across the world.

Fifty-seven years later, their legacy is not just history. It is a living call to action.

Pride exists because people fought. Because they organized, marched, mourned, and refused to disappear. Stonewall reminds us that progress is never given - it is won, again and again, by communities who dare to demand better.

At DVLF, we are proud to stand in that tradition, investing in the leaders, organizations, and movements working every day to ensure that every LGBTQ+ person is celebrated, protected, and empowered to thrive authentically.

On this anniversary, we honor those who came before us. We stand with those in the struggle today. And we recommit ourselves to the future they fought to make possible. ✊🏼✊🏽🌈
