The School District of Philadelphia will close the school selection process this Friday, November 1st, close of business!
• Do not wait until the deadline to apply to up to five schools for SY 2020-2021.
• Have your documents reviewed, proofread, signed and uploaded as soon as possible.
• Save your hard copies, give one packet to your school counselor and hand deliver the others to the individual school(s) on your list by November 1st!!

Today is the PSAT/NMSQT Test Day for 10 and 11th graders. Consider it PRACTICE in 10th grade; consider it PRELIMINARY in 11th grade. The 11th grade scores could unlock National Merit Scholarship funding for qualifying students!

Spent the best part of my day encouraging Penn students to bring everything they’ve got to the West Philadelphia Tutoring Project. Tutors create agency for students; it’s so much more than homework help! Thanks to Dallas Ryan and the entire WPTP board for the invitation.

Supporting Students Before School Starts Families in need are celebrating before their children head back to school. Hundreds of students got free school supplies on Thursday, giving parents in Philadelphia a chance to learn more about other free services to them and their children throughout the school year.
