!!!EDM PRODUCTION TIP!!!

Punch is important in electronic dance music tracks. Please consider your transients (I am lookin' at you, DRUMS)!

Too little - it sounds weak and brittle. Lost in the sauce.
Too much - it sounds too clicky and over-the-top. Messes with the other mix elements.

To add a nice transient to drum sounds, use a compressor with your desired ratio (I prefer to use a 10:1 for EDM): med/long attack (~10-30ms) and a short release (less than 10ms)!

Take your time when you play with the threshold, and adjust to taste. Remember to mix in mono, AND with the rest of the track.
