Pretty Okay Travel

We went to Kiyomizu-dera not knowing it was culture day. The long hike up the Kyoto hills was jam packed with Japanese children, grandparents and everyone between going for a holiday shrine visit. The top was worth it though, as the views against the backdrop of the city were breathtaking.

Owakudani is a stop near the crater of Mount Hakone showing signs of its last eruption 3000 years ago. Sulfur clouds fill the air, but the stop is often full of tourists all the same looking for a perfect photograph and some egg ice cream. Happy to see we got plenty of both.

When we stayed in Osaka we chose a new hotel near Namba this time. While unpacking in the hotel room, I said “There is supposed to be a cool Lion Head Shrine in Osaka I think.”

Sasha opened the window and we had a view of this guy from above! We went out, paid a visit and took some cool pictures.
