As doulas, we are often invited into some of the most sacred and vulnerable moments in a family's life. For many moms/birthing people, those moments are shaped not only by pregnancy and birth, but also by past experiences of trauma, including sexual assault.
Trauma-informed care (TIC) isn't just a framework we learn it's a way we show up. It means leading with compassion, creating emotional and physical safety, honoring each person's story without judgment, and supporting their autonomy every step of the way. Healing begins when people feel seen, heard, believed, and empowered.
Join us as we kick off Quarter 3 of our Beyond the Birth Room series with an important conversation on supporting survivors of sexual assault through survivor-centered, trauma-informed care and referrals.
Together, we're building birth workers who don't just support births, we support community healing.
