We cut the ribbon at West Mill Creek playground last month!
This project is part of a $4.5 million investment at the site, supported by a $600,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development’s Local Share Account program and $500,000 from Councilmember Jamie Gauthier through the Improvement to Existing Facilities (ITEF) program.
The renovation included:
New playground and equipment
A redesigned and refurbished Brown Street Plaza
New site furnishings
Enhanced exterior lighting and security cameras
Exterior site signage
New fencing
Tree planting and landscaping improvements
Projects like these do not happen without leadership and support at every level of so a big thank you to and most importantly, every member of this community!

Construction is moving at Lawncrest Rec!
This $23.4 million renovation of the recreation center and site will completely transform the building, and add new a new playground, sports courts, a walking loop and landscaping! The project will be complete later this year.
And, that’s not all happening on the campus!
The City is also replacing the pool and renovating the poolhouse, part of a larger investment at Lawncrest that included the library, which opened in April 2025.
