Kids wanted to write ✍️ a letter to 🎅 and started with a bullet list of things THEY WANT.

We had to pause, do a little rewind ⏪ and learn to FIRST thank Santa for everything he brought last year before asking for new stuff.

Simple lessons go a long way if repeated over and over..
(I hope ☺️)

One of the most important and beautiful things humans can do is to simply connect with others 💕

I’ve always had a major soft spot for seniors 🥹(even as a little girl I had three older ladies in the neighborhood I’d visit after school just to chat!), so few months ago I emailed 3 nursing homes in my area asking its directors if they know of any older residents who may feel lonely and could benefit from a little visit here and there.

Because I knew I would.

I guess I was missing my grandma who died 5 years ago and was hoping to find someone to remind me of her..?

One person responded to my email saying that she knows more than a few residents who’d love a visitor and she was happy to have me volunteer for that role!

That’s when I met G.

I instantly connected with her.

She’s witty, hilarious and sweet.

And when I found out she was born in 1923 (the same year as my grandmother!!) and she will be turning 100!!!! on October 7th, I immediately marked my calendar and crossed my fingers she’ll still be around for this huge milestone.

This morning, between the soccer practice and team pictures, I dragged my entire family, few balloons and a little chocolate cake to celebrate with G.

She teared up a little bit.
And so did I…

Even though we only had few minutes to spend with her today, it made me super happy to be able to be there.

And I hope my kids will always remember this little sweet old lady we shared a chocolate cake with on her 100th birthday 🥳

Happy Birthday, G!!!

(I told her “May you live 120 years”
to which she responded “Are you crazy?” 😂 🥰)

Is it true that extroverts get energized when being with people while introverts’ energy gets depleted by others? 🤔

Most people hate house chores.

So we see them as a “necessary evil”.
Something that definitely doesn’t make us happy.

But what if there was a different way to look at them?

Here is something we can learn from (my) children.

One of their jobs is to unpack the groceries.

They used to procrastinate and try to get out from doing it but now they look forward to it!!

WHY?

because
they turned it into a GAME.

One person is a cashier and another one is a shopper.

The shopper asks for “a dozen of eggs, yogurt and a lettuce” gets it, “pays with the credit card”, and puts it in the fridge.

Then they switch so the cashier is a shopper and the shopper is a cashier.

They’re having a blast 💥 and the groceries are unpacked.

I try to fold laundry while listening to a good audiobook and drive while again, listening to a good audiobook but that’s as far as I’ve gone with gamifying/ having fun while doing something boring but now I’M TOTALLY INSPIRED and will try turning more things I have to do into things I like to do 🤩
