The third and final part of our Eastern State Penitentiary mini-series explores the prison’s long history of reported hauntings.

Since closing in 1971, visitors have documented activity like disembodied voices, phantom footsteps, and shadow figures throughout the cellblocks.

Apparitions such as the “Soap Lady,” the" Shadow in the Cell," and disturbances linked to former inmate Al Capone remain among the site’s most frequently cited accounts.
