The tornadic storm that touched down in Perryton on June 15th was devastating. Three lives were lost. Many individuals are still recovering from injuries. 411 homes and 92 businesses were damaged or destroyed. This community is hurting.

Amarillo Area Foundation has established the Perryton Texas Benefit Fund to help with healing and recovery efforts. With the loss of so many homes and businesses, the rebuilding in Perryton will be a long-term process. This fund will allow individuals and state/national funders to give directly to helping Perryton. 100% of all funds raised will be provided to support victims of the Perryton tornadoes.

Spearman native Rex Linn has a special place in his heart for the Perryton community.

The third child of Darlene and James, he was born in Perryton. When Rex was a little older he asked his mother why he wasn't born in Spearman like his brother and sister so he could be a true Spearman Lynx and she replied, "Rex, this isn't about football."

Reba is a native of Oklahoma and together, she and Rex reached out to the High Plains Observer to record a message for prayers and recovery.
